Hey there, good lard, how could I have missed out on this kick-arse collection?Really astounding oldschool work, the late SNES era feel is very strong in this. The panoramas and fogs are jaw-dropping in particular, but the rest of the collection is nonetheless awesome. The fact that you have (yet?) no tileset online is a litte drawback though, I would love to make a map or even a tiny project in this style, with some muffled, yet catchy SPC700 tunes, textbox letter sounds, and a Mode 7 reference.Keep up the great work, nice to see some XP love every now and then, especially when done so well! Click to expand. Thanks for the feedback! I'm super happy that you like the assets.

I literally make all these from scratch, so they're very time consuming. I have a few miscellaneous tile sets here and there that I would like to finish up and post at some point. My ultimate goal is to have assets for all the different RPG Maker categories. So, more to come! (I need to get cracking on making an asset thread for 2003, VX-VX Ace, and MV.)Also, I just posted some new assets in the already established categories. I post at the end/beginning of each month.

There will be more updates! Unfortunately, I was a bit waylaid last month because I had to take a trip home to clean out my old house. Otherwise, I update here at least once a month. As for the base's reference, it was really a combination of many different styles and my own style. I liked the 'height' of the sprites from Suikoden, Valkyrie Profile and Illusion of Gaia. I love colorful things and it shows up in all my artwork, so many references, both from pixel art and non-pixeled artwork. I really love the color schemes from Vanillaware games and Legend of Mana especially. The hair styles were basically me just experimenting.

And the faces were influenced mainly by the sprites from Chrono Trigger and the Breath of Fire series. I looked at a lot of playstation 1 games for higher rez sprite references as well; mainly Breath of Fire 3 and 4, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vandal Hearts, Persona, Suikoden 1 and 2, Valkyrie Profile, and Alundra. I like sprites that look unique to their game. Hope this helps! I finally finished updating the thread.Things I've changed/updated:1) Consolidated assets, and I cut down on descriptions.2) Added asset thumbnails for easier viewing.

You can now click on them to show bigger previews of the sets.3) Created an 'Individual File Downloads List' at the bottom of the page. This list basically has all the assets wrapped up nicely into zip files, and are pretty much already cut up and ready to be dumped into RPG Maker XP for immediate use.

I had this before, but they were jumbled all over the thread. NOW, they're all in one place! The only exception would be the miscellaneous assets like the SM HUDs, Character Portraits and Frames, and the Life Bars/Magic Bars. You need to work on them a bit to make them 'program-ready'!I have a few more tweeks I'll be doing, but at least all the original assets I uploaded before are re-uploaded and 'shinier'!!
